Death of a Unicorn is a 2025 American comedy horror film written and directed by Alex Scharfman. It stars Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega as a father and daughter who accidentally hit and kill a unicorn, causing them to be hunted down by its parents.  Will Poulter, Tea Leoni, and Richard E. Grant appear in supporting roles.

Death of a Unicorn had its world premiere at the South by Southwest Festival on March 8, 2025, and is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States by A24 on March 28, 2025.

Premise

Elliot Kintner and his teenage daughter, Ridley, accidentally hit a unicorn while en route to a crisis management summit with Elliot’s boss, Odell Leopold, and his family. The Leopolds seize the unicorn, and their scientists discover that the creature is endowed with supernaturally curative properties, which the Leopolds seek to exploit. However, as they delve deeper into their research, the unicorn’s parents arrive and begin to slaughter one by one those involved in the exploitation of their dead foal.[2][3]

It had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival and screened in the Gala section at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.[1][2]

Follows a story of love, friendship, grief, and healing, about a writer who adopts a Great Dane that belonged to a late friend and mentor.

The Encampments is a 2025 American documentary film directed and produced by Michael T. Workman and Kei Pritsker. It follows the 2024 Columbia University pro-Palestinian campus occupations. Macklemore serves as an executive producer.

It will have its world premiere at CPH:DOX on March 25, 2025, and is scheduled to be released on March 28 by Watermelon Pictures.

Disney’s Snow White,[2][7] or simply Snow White, is a 2025 American musical fantasy film directed by Marc Webb and written by Erin Cressida Wilson.[8] Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Marc Platt Productions, it is a live-action reimagining[9] of Walt Disney Productions‘s 1937 animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which itself is based on the 1812 fairy tale “Snow White” by the Brothers Grimm. The film stars Rachel Zegler in the title role, alongside Andrew Burnap and Gal Gadot.

Plans for a remake of 1937’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs were confirmed in October 2016, with Wilson announced as a screenwriter. Webb entered talks to direct the film in May 2019 and was announced as director in September 2019. Filming took place primarily in London, England, from March to July 2022, with additional filming and pick-ups taking place in June 2024. The film elicited pre-release controversies, with criticism levied against the color-blind casting, story changes, Zegler’s public critiques of the original film, and reimagining of the Seven Dwarfs.

Snow White premiered at Alcázar of Segovia in Segovia, Spain on March 12, 2025, and is scheduled to be released in theaters in the United States by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures on March 21, 2025.

SECRET MALL APARTMENT

Secret Mall Apartment is a 2024 American documentary film directed by filmmaker Jeremy Workman that recounts the story of a group of young Rhode Islanders who built a secret apartment inside the bustling Providence Place shopping mall in Providence, Rhode Island, in 2003, living there for four years until getting caught and charged with trespassing in 2007.[1][2][3]

The group filmed much of their activity in the secret apartment with inexpensive Pentax Optio cameras they purchased at the mall’s RadioShack and concealed in Altoids tins.[4] The story of the secret apartment had been an urban legend for many years [5], and the documentary brought together the original 8 participants for the first time in 17 years.[6]

Secret Mall Apartment marks the second collaboration between Workman and actor Jesse Eisenberg, one of the film’s producers. [7][8]Previously, Eisenberg produced Workman’s 2018 documentary The World Before Your Feet.

Synopsis

The film tells the true story of eight Rhode Islanders who built and lived in a secret apartment in a busy local mall from 2003 to 2007.[9]

According to the main subject, Michael Townsend, after the story broke in 2007, several Hollywood production companies approached him about making a film. For nearly 15 years, he and his fellow artists turned down “north of 30 directors” who wanted to make a documentary on the story. [10]Finally, in 2019, after meeting director Jeremy Workman in Greece, Townsend felt he had finally found a director who could tell the story properly, depicting how the group’s outside public artwork intersected with the larger ideas of the secret apartment. [11]In interviews, Workman has talked about seeing the secret apartment as “the Trojan Horse” to explore deeper ideas about passion and purpose.[6]

The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie is a 2024 American animated science fiction comedy film produced by Warner Bros. Animation. The film is spun off from the Looney Tunes Cartoons series developed by Browngardt and features the voices of Eric Bauza, Candi Milo, and Peter MacNicol. Its story centers on Daffy Duck and Porky Pig as they try to save Earth from an alien scheme while trying not to drive each other crazy.

The Day the Earth Blew Up premiered at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 11, 2024, and is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States by Ketchup Entertainment on March 14, 2025. This makes it the second Looney Tunes film not to be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures domestically after Bugs Bunny Superstar.

Plot

Due to a series of antics at the bubblegum factory, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig discover a secret alien plot to take over the Earth via mind-control. The duo must work together to stop the aliens with a little help from Petunia Pig while trying to avoid driving each other insane.[5]

Mickey 17 is a 2025 science fiction dark comedy film produced, written, and directed by Bong Joon-ho, based on the 2022 novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton. The film stars Robert Pattinson in the title role alongside Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo.

Mickey 17 premiered at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival on February 15, 2025,[6] before being theatrically released by Warner Bros. Pictures in South Korea on February 28, 2025, and later in the United States on March 7.

Plot

Mickey Barnes and his friend Timo are financially destitute after a failed business venture and on the run from a loan shark. Unable to pay their debts, the pair sign up as crew for a spaceship that leaves Earth to colonize the planet Nilfheim—Timo as a pilot and Mickey as an “Expendable.” As an expendable, Mickey is treated as disposable and given lethal assignments since every time he dies, he is “reprinted” using cloning technology that has been banned on Earth. During the voyage, Mickey develops a romantic relationship with Nasha Barridge, a security agent.

Upon landing on the snow planet Nilfheim, native lifeforms dubbed “creepers” prevent full colonization. Mickey 17, the seventeenth iteration of Mickey, tries to capture a creeper for analysis but falls into a fissure in the ice. Timo sees Mickey 17 being swarmed by creepers before leaving and reports him dead. However, the creepers collectively push Mickey 17 out of the fissure, enabling him to return to the ship.

Mickey 17 goes to his quarters and finds his replacement, Mickey 18, already there. Multiples are forbidden; Kenneth Marshall, the politician who runs the colony, can only use the cloning technology with the proviso that if multiples occur, all clones will be killed immediately. Knowing this, the more aggressive Mickey 18 tries to kill Mickey 17, who resists and suggests an arrangement where both of them live by rotating duties, meals, and deaths. Mickey 18 is interrupted and leaves with Nasha, while Mickey 17 is taken away for dinner with Kenneth Marshall, Marshall’s wife Ylfa, and security agent Kai. At the dinner, Mickey, 17, reacts badly to a meal of experimental meat and subsequent treatment with experimental painkillers.

When Mickey 17 returns to his quarters, Nasha knows the situation and wants to help them.

It premiered at the 57th Sitges Film Festival on October 7, 2024 and will release in the United States and Canada by Viva Kids and Elevation Pictures on March 7, 2025.[2]
